यो5वमन्य वच: पथ्यं सुहृदामाप्तकारिणाम् | स्वमतं कुरुते मूढ: स शोच्यो नचिरादिव,जो मूर्ख अपने हितैषी मित्रोंके हितकर वचनकी अवहेलना करके मनमाना बर्ताव करता है, वह थोड़े ही समयमें शोचनीय दशाको प्राप्त हो जाता है
yo 'vamanya vacaḥ pathyaṃ suhṛdām āptakāriṇām | svamataṃ kurute mūḍhaḥ sa śocyo nacirād iva ||
サンジャヤは言った。善意ある友と、信頼すべき助け手の健やかな忠告を退け、己の思いのままに振る舞う愚者は、ほどなく嘆きの的となる。
संजय उवाच
Disregarding beneficial advice from trustworthy well-wishers and acting out of self-will leads quickly to ruin and regret; wisdom lies in heeding sound counsel.
