दध्मौ शड्खं महानादमार्षभेणाथ माधव: । सात्यकिको रथहीन और कर्णको युद्धके लिये उद्यत देख भगवान् श्रीकृष्णने बड़े जोरकी ध्वनि करनेवाले शंखको ऋषभस्वरसे बजाया
sañjaya uvāca | dadhmau śaṅkhaṃ mahānādam ārṣabheṇātha mādhavaḥ |
サンジャヤは言った。「そのときマーダヴァ（聖クリシュナ）は、雄大な響きをもつ法螺貝を、牡牛のうなりのように深く鳴り渡らせて吹いた。サーティヤキが戦車を失い、カルナが戦いに身構えるのを見て、クリシュナの雷鳴のごとき貝の一吹きは、道義の檄となった――逆境にあっても揺るがず、危機が迫ろうとも盟友を見捨てぬことを。」
