Nakula–Śakuni Duel and the Night Battle; Śikhaṇḍin–Kṛpa Engagement (नकुल-शकुनियुद्धं तथा रात्रियुद्धवर्णनम्)
भ्रान्तमुद्भ्रान्तमाविद्धमाप्लुतं विप्लुतं सृतम् । सम्पातं समुदीर्ण च दर्शयन्तौ यशस्विनौ
bhrāntam udbhrāntam āviddham āplutaṁ viplutaṁ sṛtam | sampātaṁ samudīrṇaṁ ca darśayantau yaśasvinau ||
サञ्जयは語った。「あの名高き二人の戦士は、戦場におけるあらゆる身のこなしを示した――旋回してよろめき、投げ飛ばされては打たれ、跳び上がっては身をかわし、滑るように進んでは突進し、急降下しては再び立ち上がる。かくして戦の目もくらむ躍動が余すところなく現れたのである。ここに示される武勇とは、ただの力ではない。混沌のただ中で己を律し、技をもって制する熟達であり、戦の重圧の下での沈着と巧みさによってこそ名声は得られる。」
