अवक्रगामिभिर्बाणैर भ्यवर्षन्महायशा: । दंशितं द्वैरथे यत्तं सर्वशस्त्रविशारदम्,महायशस्वी भीमसेन सम्पूर्ण शस्त्रोंके चलानेमें निपुण, कवचधारी तथा द्वैरथ युद्धके लिये तैयार कर्णके ऊपर सीधे जानेवाले बाणोंकी वर्षा करने लगे
avakragāmibhir bāṇair abhyavarṣan mahāyaśāḥ | daṁśitaṁ dvairathe yattaṁ sarvaśastraviśāradam ||
名高きビーマセーナは、狙いを外さぬまっすぐな矢を雨のごとくカルナに浴びせかけた。御者の子カルナは鎧をまとい、戦車同士の戦いに万全の備えを整え、あらゆる武器に通じた達人であったが、それでもビーマは休むことなく矢の豪雨で攻め立てた。
