Droṇa’s sweeping assault and the Abhimanyu–Jayadratha close-quarters episode (द्रोणस्य भीषणव्यचरितम् / सौभद्र-जयद्रथ-संनिपातः)
सिंहनादरवांश्षक्रुर्बाहुशब्दांश्व कृत्स्नश: । तच्च सर्व यथान्यायं धर्मराजेन भारत
saṃhanādaravāṃś cakrur bāhuśabdāṃś ca kṛtsnaśaḥ | tac ca sarvaṃ yathānyāyaṃ dharmarājena bhārata āptair āśu parijñātaṃ bhāradvājacikīrṣitam ||
サञ्जャヤは言った。「大王よ、軍勢は四方で獅子のごとき咆哮を上げ、腕を打ち鳴らして大きな拍手の音を響かせた。だが、バーラタの裔よ、法王ユディシュティラは、信頼する密偵・使者を通じて、しかるべき手順のもと、バーラドヴァージャの子（ドローナ）の企図—彼が何を企んでいるか—を速やかに余すところなく知ったのである。」
