As a colophon, the verse does not teach through direct instruction; it frames the episode ethically by highlighting purposeful valor (parākrama) and decisive entry (praveśa) undertaken in pursuit of a vowed aim within the constraints and tragedies of dharma in war.
This is the chapter-ending colophon: it marks the close of the 117th chapter in Droṇa Parva’s Jayadratha-slaying section, identifying the chapter’s focus as Sātyaki’s penetration into the opposing formation and his heroic feats.
