शल्यस्य सशरं चापं मुष्टिदेशे व्यकृन्तत । कर्णको बारह और वृषसेनको तीन बाणोंसे घायल करके राजा शल्यके बाणसहित धनुषको मुद्दी पकड़नेकी जगहसे पुनः काट डाला
śalyasya saśaraṃ cāpaṃ muṣṭideśe vyakṛntata |
サञ्जयは語った――彼はシャリヤ王の弓を、そこに番えられた矢ごと断ち切り、握りの部分――手が掴むまさにその所で切り落とした。戦場の苛烈な技の掟において、この一撃は、ただ傷つけるのではなく強敵を武装解除するための戦術的熟達を示している。
