The verse highlights a recurring epic ethic of warfare and human conduct: opponents actively seek and exploit a perceived 'chidra' (opening/weakness). It underscores vigilance and strategic awareness in conflict, and reflects the Kṣatriya impulse toward victory within the harsh logic of battlefield dharma.
Arjuna (Dhanañjaya) is seen standing on the ground, and the surrounding Kṣatriya fighters interpret this as a tactical opening. They shout that they have found a chance and charge toward him in a coordinated rush.
