Sātyaki’s passage and Duryodhana’s mass engagement
अन्योन्यमभिविध्येतां शरैस्तौ द्रोणसात्यकी । महावीर द्रोणाचार्य और सात्यकि अस्त्र चलानेमें अपने हाथोंकी फुर्ती दिखाते हुए बाणोंद्वारा एक-दूसरेको बेध रहे थे
anyonyam abhividhyetāṁ śarais tau droṇa-sātyakī |
サञ्जयは言った。「ドローナとサーティヤキ、いずれも大勇士。飛び道具を操る手さばきの速さを示しつつ、矢の斉射で互いを射貫いていた。」
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the kṣatriya arena where skill and courage are tested through direct confrontation; ethically, it underscores how war binds opponents into mutual harm, making discipline and adherence to dharma (rules of combat, restraint, and purpose) crucial even when violence is reciprocal.
Sañjaya reports that Droṇa and Sātyaki are engaged in a fierce duel, rapidly releasing missiles and repeatedly piercing each other with arrows, demonstrating their exceptional martial prowess.
