サンジャヤは言った。「おおバーラタよ、戦場に勇猛なるビーシュマは、その戦いでパーンドゥの子の軍の多くの戦士を討ち、戦場にて数え尽くせぬ武威を示した。」

The verse highlights the ethical tension of dharma in war: extraordinary personal virtue and seniority (Bhīṣma) do not prevent one from causing vast harm when bound by allegiance and kṣatriya-duty. It invites reflection on responsibility, loyalty, and the tragic cost of righteous conflict.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Bhīṣma, fighting fiercely on the battlefield, cut down many warriors from the Pāṇḍava side (associated with Yudhiṣṭhira), demonstrating immense and seemingly countless martial prowess.
