भीष्मभीमसमागमः — Bhīṣma–Bhīma Strategic Engagement and Counsel to the King
उसमें दस हजार घोड़े, उतने ही हाथी और दस हजार रथ तथा आपके चित्रसेन आदि शूरवीर पुत्र कवच धारण करके पितामह भीष्मकी रक्षा कर रहे थे ।। रक्ष्यमाण: स तै: शूरैगोप्यमानाश्व तेन ते । संनद्धा: समदृश्यन्त राजानश्व महाबला:,उन वीरोंसे भीष्म सुरक्षित थे और भीष्मसे उन शूरवीरोंकी रक्षा हो रही थी। वहाँ बहुत- से महाबली नरेश कवच बाँधकर युद्धके लिये तैयार दिखायी देते थे
sañjaya uvāca | rakṣyamāṇaḥ sa tais śūrair gopyamānāśva-tena te | sannaddhāḥ samadṛśyanta rājānaś ca mahābalāḥ ||
サンジャヤは言った。「そこには一万の馬、同数の象、そして一万の戦車があり、チトラセーナらの勇士が鎧をまとって祖父ビーマ（毗湿摩）を守っていた。彼はその勇士たちに護られ、また彼自身も、彼らの任にあるアシュヴァ—騎兵—を守り支えた。そこでは多くの大力の王たちが、甲冑を整え、戦の備えを完うしているのが見えた。これは戦における相互の守護の義務を示す。将は兵に護られ、兵はまた、奉ずる将によって扶けられ、庇われるのである。」
