अध्याय ८० — मध्यंदिन-रणवृत्तान्तः

ते कृत्वा समरव्यूहं सूचीमुखमरिंदमा: । बिभिदुर्धार्तराष्ट्राणां तद् रथानीकमाहवे
te kṛtvā samaravyūhaṃ sūcīmukham ariṃdamāḥ | bibhidur dhārtarāṣṭrāṇāṃ tad rathānīkam āhave ||
サンジャヤは言った。敵を屈する勇士たちは「スーチームカ（針の尖端）」の戦陣を結ぶや、戦いのただ中で、ダールタラーシュトラ方の戦車隊を突き破り、裂き崩し始めた。ここには、規律ある策と武勇の結合が示される。一点に収斂した陣形が大軍をも破り、決意と秩序が戦場の圧倒的な抵抗を貫くのである。
