The verse highlights a marvel of a distant realm: extraordinary longevity and unaging youth sustained by a special natural essence (the Kālāmrā tree’s juice). In context, it underscores the vastness and wonder of the world described in the epic, contrasting ordinary human limits with exceptional conditions found in certain regions.
Sañjaya continues a descriptive account to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, explaining that the inhabitants of a particular place live for ten thousand years and remain ever youthful because they drink the juice of the Kālāmrā tree.
