द्रवतस्तान् समालक्ष्य भीष्मद्रोणी महारथौ । न्यवारयेतां संरब्धौ दुर्योधनहितैषिणाौं,उन योद्धाओंको भागते देख दुर्योधनका हित चाहनेवाले महारथी भीष्म और द्रोण क्रोधपूर्वक उन्हें रोकने लगे
dravatastān samālakṣya bhīṣmadroṇī mahārathau | nyavārayetāṁ saṁrabdhau duryodhanahitaiṣiṇau ||
サンジャヤは言った。逃げ惑う武者たちを見て、ドゥルヨーダナの安泰を願う大車戦士ビーシュマとドローナは、憤然として彼らを制止しようと進み出た。
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how commanders act to preserve cohesion in a moral and strategic crisis: loyalty to one’s side and responsibility for troop morale can drive decisive action, yet it also raises an ethical tension—whether serving a leader’s ‘interest’ aligns with broader dharma.
As some warriors begin to flee, Bhīṣma and Droṇa notice the retreat and, angered by the breakdown of discipline, attempt to stop and rally them, motivated by concern for Duryodhana and the stability of the Kaurava formation.
