arjunas tu tataḥ kruddhas tava sainyaṁ viśāmpate | vavarṣa śaravarṣeṇa dhārābhir iva toyadaḥ ||
The verse highlights how anger (krodha) can transform skill into overwhelming, indiscriminate force. In the ethical frame of the epic, martial excellence is real and necessary for a kṣatriya, yet when driven by wrath it becomes a dangerous flood—suggesting the need for inner restraint even amid rightful duty.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Arjuna, now enraged, begins a fierce counterattack, releasing arrows in continuous torrents upon the Kaurava host, compared to a cloud pouring down sheets of rain.
