śuśubhāte tadā tau tu śaineya-kuru-puṅgavau | amāvāsyāṁ gatau yadvat soma-sūryau nabhas-tale ||
The verse highlights the power of unity and coordinated valor in a righteous struggle: two champions acting together become doubly radiant, and the cosmic simile suggests that even in the darkness of conflict (amāvāsyā), dharmic strength can appear as a striking, auspicious convergence.
Sañjaya describes Sātyaki and Abhimanyu seated together on one chariot, appearing exceptionally splendid and formidable, and compares their combined presence to the rare sight of the Sun and Moon together in the sky on the new-moon night.
