चेकितानो<पि संरब्ध: सुशर्माणं महाहवे | प्राच्छादयत् तमिषुभिर्महामेघ इवाचलम्,तब चेकितानने भी रोषमें भरकर उस महायुद्धमें अपने बाणोंकी वर्षासे सुशर्माको उसी प्रकार ढक दिया, जैसे महामेघ जलकी वर्षासे पर्वतको आच्छादित कर देता है
Cekitāno 'pi saṃrabdhaḥ Suśarmāṇaṃ mahāhave | prācchādayat tam iṣubhir mahāmegha ivācalam ||
サンジャヤは言った。「チェキターナもまた憤怒に燃え、その大合戦においてスシャルマーを濃密な矢の雨で覆い尽くした。さながら大いなる雨雲が豪雨で山を包み隠すがごとくであった。」
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma in wartime: courage and decisive action are expected, yet the imagery also suggests that anger, when harnessed to duty, becomes a forceful but purposeful instrument rather than mere cruelty.
Cekitāna, stirred to anger, attacks Suśarmā in the thick of battle and overwhelms him with a barrage of arrows, likened to a rain-cloud covering a mountain with heavy rainfall.
