yudhiṣṭhira uvāca |
āmantre tvāṃ durdharṣa tvayā yotsyāmahe saha |
anujānīhi māṃ tāta āśīrbhis tvam prayojaya ||
ユディシュティラは言った。「ああ、征服されぬ大祖父よ、あなたに暇乞いし、許しを請います。今や我らはあなたと戦わねばなりません。父のごとく尊き方よ、どうかお許しを賜り、祝福によって我を力づけてください。」
संजय उवाच
Even in righteous warfare, dharma requires humility and reverence: Yudhiṣṭhira seeks the elder’s consent and blessings before engaging him, acknowledging moral gravity and the primacy of respectful conduct over personal enmity.
On the eve of battle, Yudhiṣṭhira approaches the formidable grandsire Bhīṣma and formally asks leave, stating that the Pāṇḍavas must fight him, and requests permission and blessings to proceed.
