Chapter 47: Krauñca-vyūha Deployment and Conch-Signals

Kaurava–Pāṇḍava Readiness

vāsudevaś ca bhagavān pṛṣṭhato 'nujagāma tam |

tathā mukhyāś ca rājānas tac-cittā jagmur utsukāḥ ||

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the ethical force of resolute action aligned with duty: when a principal agent moves with purpose, others—leaders included—are drawn to follow. It also emphasizes divine accompaniment: Kṛṣṇa’s following presence signifies guidance and steadiness amid the uncertainties of righteous warfare.

Sañjaya reports that Kṛṣṇa (Vāsudeva) follows behind ‘him’ (contextually, Arjuna as he advances), and the leading kings, intent on him, eagerly go along as well—marking a moment of collective movement and heightened anticipation on the battlefield.
