Educational Q&A

All forms of power—splendor, victory, resolve, even the capacity for deception—ultimately arise from the same supreme source; therefore one must govern such capacities through dharma, cultivating sattva and using strength and intelligence responsibly rather than for adharma.

In the Bhīṣma Parva’s teaching discourse, the speaker enumerates manifestations of the divine in the world, identifying Himself with prominent forces and qualities—here, gambling among deceivers, brilliance among the brilliant, victory, determination, and sattvic strength.
