एवमस्य धरनूंष्याजी चिच्छेद सुबहून्यथ । उस महायुद्धमें भीष्म जो-जो धनुष हाथमें लेते थे कुन्तीकुमार अर्जुन उसे आधे निमेषमें काट डालते थे। इस प्रकार उन्होंने रणक्षेत्रमें उनके बहुत-से धनुष खण्डित कर दिये
evam asya dhanuṁṣy ājau ciccheda subahūny atha |
サञ्जयは語った。激戦のただ中で、アルジュナはビ―シュマの弓を幾度となく断ち切った。その速さは、ビ―シュマが手に取った弓が、まばたきにも満たぬ刹那に切り落とされるほどであった。かくして戦場において、彼はビ―シュマの武器を数多く砕き、比類なき技を示した。しかも戦の陰鬱な務めは、両陣営の肩に重くのしかかっていた。
