Transliteration

tasya kīrtimatas tāta purā rāmeṇa dhīmatā |

Translation

サンジャヤは言った。「愛しき者よ、かつて賢者ラーマ（パラシュラーマ）が名高きビーシュマに授けた、敵軍を滅ぼし得る武器の教練に拠りて、クル族の老いたる大祖父ビーシュマ、敵の勇士を屠る者は、日ごとに対陣する（パーンダヴァ方の）軍勢の精鋭一万を斬り伏せ続けていた。」
