Measurements and Description of Śākadvīpa
asaṅkhyātaḥ sa nityaṁ hi tiryag ūrdhvam adhas tathā | rājan |
The verse emphasizes the limits of human measurement and certainty when confronted with vast, overwhelming phenomena; it cultivates humility and a sense of awe in the face of what exceeds ordinary comprehension.
Sañjaya addresses the king and describes something as immeasurable, extending in all directions—sideways, upward, and downward—underscoring its boundless magnitude within the ongoing battlefield narration.
