Arjuna and Bhima’s pressure; escalation toward Bhishma
sañjaya uvāca | anujānāmi vaḥ pārthāḥ praharadhvaṃ yathāsukham | evaṃ hi sukṛtaṃ manye bhavatāṃ vidito hy aham ||
The verse underscores role-based duty in a war setting: once counsel or communication has been delivered, the agent considers his task fulfilled and authorizes the warriors to act according to their judgment. It reflects the ethic of kṣatriya action—decisive engagement after due notice—while also highlighting accountability for one’s assigned role.
Sañjaya addresses the Pāṇḍavas (Pārthas) and gives them permission to commence or continue striking in battle as they see fit. He frames this as having completed his own responsibility—making himself/what he conveys known to them—after which the warriors proceed with action.
