मृद्नन्तस्ते नरान् राजन् हयांश्व सुबहून् रणे वातायमाना दृश्यने गन्धर्वनगरोपमा:
sañjaya uvāca | mṛdnantas te narān rājan hayāṃś ca bahūn raṇe vātāyamānā dṛśyante gandharva-nagaropamāḥ ||
サンジャヤは言った。王よ、それらの戦車は戦のただ中で、汝の多くの歩兵と馬を踏み砕きつつ、風のごとき速さで逃走しているのが見えた——それはまるで、ガンダルヴァたちの天上の都が眼前に現れたかのようであった。
