भीष्म-पर्व अध्याय १०० — त्रिगर्त-आक्रमण, भीष्म-केन्द्रित पुनर्संयोजन, तथा शक्त्यस्त्र-विनिमय

सम्प्राप्य तु ततो राजा भीष्मस्य सदनं शुभम्‌ | अवतीर्य हयाच्चापि भीष्म॑ प्राप्प जनेश्वर:,तत्पश्चात्‌ राजा दुर्योधन भीष्मके सुन्दर निवास-स्थानके निकट पहुँचकर घोड़ेसे उतर पड़ा और भीष्मजीके पास जाकर उन्हें प्रणाम करके बहुमूल्य बिछौनोंसे युक्त सर्वतोभद्र नामक सर्वोत्तम स्वर्णमय सिंहासनपर बैठ गया

samprāpya tu tato rājā bhīṣmasya sadanaṃ śubham | avatīrya hayāccāpi bhīṣmaṃ prāpya janeśvaraḥ ||

やがて王は、毗湿摩の吉祥なる邸に到り、馬から降りた。人々の主は毗湿摩のもとへ進み寄り—迫り来る戦の重圧の中にあっても、年長と既成の権威に対する恭順を示したのである。
