Nakula’s Declaration and the Uñchavṛtti Brāhmaṇa’s Superior Merit (Āśvamedhika Parva, Adhyāya 92)
एतद् भवन्त: संचिन्त्य महर्षेरस्य धीमत: । अगस्त्यस्यातितपस: कर्तुमर्हन्त्यनुग्रहम्
etad bhavantaḥ sañcintya maharṣer asya dhīmataḥ | agastyasyātitapasaḥ kartum arhanty anugraham ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは言った。「このことを心に留め、汝らは皆、並外れた苦行を積み、智慧に満ちた大聖仙アガスティヤに恩寵を示すと決せよ。そうすれば、彼の聖なる祭儀は妨げなく成就するであろう。」
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse emphasizes dharmic conduct toward spiritual authorities: after due reflection, one should extend support and goodwill to a highly austere and wise sage, recognizing that such respect and assistance help sacred duties proceed without hindrance.
Vaiśampāyana urges the assembled listeners to consider the situation and to grant their favor and cooperation to the great sage Agastya, so that his ongoing sacrificial undertaking may be successfully completed without disruption.
