Babhruvāhana and Dhanaṃjaya’s engagement at Maṇipūra
एष प्रसाद्य शिरसा प्रशमार्थमरिंदम
eṣa prasādya śirasā praśamārtham ariṃdama
彼は敬虔に頭を垂れて恭順を示し、鎮静を期してその恩寵を得ようとした—おお、敵を屈する者よ—怒りを鎮め、和を取り戻すために。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights an ethical method of resolving conflict: humility (bowing the head) and respectful appeasement are presented as means to achieve praśama—calming hostility and restoring order.
Vaiśampāyana describes someone approaching another with deference, bowing his head to propitiate him, specifically to bring about pacification and end agitation or anger in the situation.
