पाण्डव-वृष्णि-समागमः तथा अश्वमेध-अनुज्ञा | Reunion at the Kuru Court and Authorization of the Aśvamedha

अलंचक्ुश्व माल्यौघधै: पुरुषा नागसाह्दयम्‌ । पताकाभिर्विचित्राभिथर्थ्वजैश्न विविधैरपि

alaṃcakruś ca mālyaughaiḥ puruṣā nāgasāhvayam | patākābhir vicitrābhir atha dhvajaiś ca vividhair api ||

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。町の人々は、ナーガサーフヴァヤ(ハスティナープラ)を、花鬘の山、花の飾り綱やさまざまな花飾りで飾り立て、さらに多種多様な幟と、色彩も形も豊かな旗で彩った。その光景は、公の敬虔と市民の務めを示すものであり—王の大儀を讃え、戦乱ののちに回復した国の秩序を外に向かって祝うための、目に見える祝賀であった。
