Parīkṣit-janma-saṃkaṭa and Kuntī’s petition to Vāsudeva (परिक्षिज्जन्मसंकटं कुन्त्याः प्रार्थना च)
किंकराणां तत: पश्चाच्चकार बलिमुत्तमम् | वेदोंके पारंगत विद्वान् पुरोहितने विधिपूर्वक देवताको अत्यन्त प्रिय लगनेवाले समस्त कर्म करके फिर भगवान् शिवके पार्षदोंको उत्तम बलि (भेंट-पूजा) चढ़ायी
kiṅkarāṇāṃ tataḥ paścāc cakāra balim uttamam | vedāṅge pāraṅgato vidvān purohitena vidhipūrvakaṃ devatābhyo 'tyanta-priya-lagnān sarva-karmāṇi kṛtvā punaḥ bhagavataḥ śivasya pārṣadānām uttama-baliṃ (bheṭa-pūjāṃ) samarpayām āsa |
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは言った。その後、彼は最上のバリ(bali、恭敬の供献)を捧げた。まず従者たちに供え、ついでヴェーダとその補助学に通暁した学識ある祭司のもと、神々に最も喜ばれる一切の儀礼を法にかなって執り行った。定めに従ってそれらを成し終えると、さらに主シヴァの眷属(従者の群)へ、いっそう勝れた供養の捧げ物を献じた。この段は、権勢と成功は、厳正な儀礼秩序、神聖なる位階への敬意、そして定められた務めの完遂に根ざすべきことを示している。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse emphasizes dharmic order in worship: rites should be performed correctly (vidhipūrvakam), under qualified guidance (a learned purohita), and with due respect to divine hierarchy—offering propitiation not only to the principal deity but also to associated beings (attendants/retinue).
After completing prior steps, the performer arranges an excellent bali offering. With a priest skilled in Veda and Vedāṅgas, he performs all deity-pleasing rites and then presents a special offering to Lord Śiva’s attendants (pārṣadāḥ), indicating a comprehensive, properly sequenced ritual observance.
