Parīkṣit-janma-saṃkaṭa and Kuntī’s petition to Vāsudeva

Wealth is to be approached and employed under dharma: through reverence, restraint, and auspicious sanction, not through mere appetite. The king’s joy is shown as aligned with rightful purpose—resources gathered to support righteous duties rather than personal indulgence.
Yudhiṣṭhira first worships and salutes the deity associated with wealth (Dhanādhyakṣa/Kubera). After completing these respectful rites, he orders the stored treasure to be dug up, indicating a ceremonially and ethically framed recovery of wealth.
