तेषां तदभवद् युद्ध दशाहानि महात्मनाम् | कुरूणां पाण्डवानां च सुमहल्लोमहर्षणम्,उन महामनस्वी कौरवों और पाण्डवोंमें दस दिनोंतक महान् रोमांचकारी युद्ध हुआ
teṣāṃ tad abhavad yuddhaṃ daśāhāni mahātmanām | kurūṇāṃ pāṇḍavānāṃ ca sumahallomaharṣaṇam ||
ヴァースデーヴァは言った。「かくして、あの大いなる魂をもつ戦士たちの間に、クル族とパーンドゥ族との十日に及ぶ戦が起こった。巨大にして身の毛もよだつ闘争であり、その暴虐の規模は畏れと戦慄とを呼び起こした。」
