वायोश्वापि गुण: स्पर्श: स्पर्शश्व॒ बहुधा स्मृतः । शब्द और स्पर्श--ये वायुके दो गुण जानने योग्य कहे जाते हैं। इनमें भी स्पर्श ही वायुका प्रधान गुण है। स्पर्श भी कई प्रकारका माना गया है
vāyoś cāpi guṇaḥ sparśaḥ, śabdaś ca bahudhā smṛtaḥ |
風神ヴāユは説く。風は感得される性質によって知られる—とりわけ触であり、また音も伴う。そのうち触こそ風を定める第一の属性とされ、この「触」自体も多様な相として理解される。この教えは道徳的・心理的な要点をも示す。元素がその特有の性質によって識別されるように、人もまた、自ら培い表す支配的な性質によって知られるのである。
