Adhyāya 42 — Mahābhūta–Indriya–Adhyātma-Vyavasthā
Brahmā’s Instruction on Elements and Faculties
tvag-ghrāṇa-śrotra-cakṣūṃṣi rasanā vāk ca saṃyatāḥ | viśuddhaṃ ca mano yasya buddhis cāvyabhicāriṇī ||
The verse teaches that liberation-oriented realization depends on disciplined restraint of the senses and speech, purification of the mind, and an unwavering intellect; such inner steadiness leads to attainment of the highest Brahman.
Vāyudeva is instructing the listener on the marks of a spiritually accomplished person, describing the inner disciplines—sense-restraint, mental purity, and steady discernment—that culminate in reaching the supreme Brahman.
