Adhyāya 32: Tāpasānāṃ Darśanaṃ — Ascetics Seek to Identify the Pāṇḍavas

आमन्त्रयान्योन्यमाश्लिष्य ततो जम्मुर्यथागतम्‌ । वे वीर और उनकी वे तरुणी स्त्रियाँ एक रात साथ-साथ विहार करके अन्तमें एक- दूसरेकी अनुमति ले परस्पर गले मिलकर जैसे आये थे, उसी प्रकार चले जानेको उद्यत हुए

āmantaryānyonyam āśliṣya tato jagmur yathāgatam |

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。互いに暇乞いし、抱き合ってのち、彼らは出立し、来た道をそのまま引き返した。この場面は、共に過ごした後であっても礼を失わず節度を保って別れるさまを示す—相互の同意、しかるべき作法、そして秩序ある振る舞いが、人の情の結びつきの中にあっても貫かれることを強調している。
