Adhyāya 32: Tāpasānāṃ Darśanaṃ — Ascetics Seek to Identify the Pāṇḍavas

ekāṃ rātriṃ vihṛtyaiva te vīrās tāś ca yoṣitaḥ

Educational Q&A

Even in times of transition and sorrow, proper conduct favors moderation: a brief rest is acceptable, but one should not lose oneself in pleasure when duty, grief, and the larger moral horizon demand sobriety.

The narration notes that the group—heroes along with women—spent a single night in recreation or respite, implying a short halt before continuing their journey or undertaking, consistent with the austere tone of the Āśramavāsika section.
