Nārada’s Exempla of Tapas and Assurance to Dhṛtarāṣṭra (नारदोपदेशः—तपःसिद्ध्युदाहरणम्)

अजिनानि प्रवेणीश्व खुक्‌ खुवं च महीपति: । कमण्डलूंश्व स्थालीश्व पिठराणि च भारत

ajīnāni praveṇīś ca khuk-khuvaṃ ca mahīpatiḥ | kamaṇḍalūṃś ca sthālīś ca piṭharāṇi ca bhārata ||

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。王は苦行者たちに、鹿皮と聖なる草の束(プラヴェーニー)を配り、また「クク」「クヴァ」と呼ばれる道具を与えた。さらに水壺(カマンダル)や調理の器、壺も施した。施与にあたっては、出家者それぞれが望む器具を、望むだけの分量でそのまま与え、必要な他の器もまた添えて備えたのである。
