कृत्वाग्नौकरणं पूर्व मन्त्रपूर्व तपोधन । ततो5ग्नये5थ सोमाय वरुणाय च नित्यश:

Transliteration

kṛtvāgnaukaraṇaṃ pūrvaṃ mantrapūrva tapodhana | tato 'gnaye 'tha somāya varuṇāya ca nityaśaḥ ||

Translation

ビーシュマは言った。「苦行に富む修行者よ。まずヴェーダの真言を正しく誦して、聖火を点じ定める儀（アグニの建立）を成し遂げたのち、以後は日ごとに定められた分を捧げよ。まずアグニに、次いでソーマに、そしてヴァルナに——かくして規定の祭祀の秩序を守り、ダルマを支える神々の力を保つのである。」
