Austerity, regulated fasting, residual-eating, and hospitality
ये तु निन्दन्ति जल्पेषु न ताउ्छाद्धेषु भोजयेत् । ब्राह्मणा निन्दिता राजन हन्युस्त्रैपुरुषं कुलम्
ye tu nindanti jalpeṣu na tāñ śrāddheṣu bhojayet | brāhmaṇā ninditā rājan hanyus traipuruṣaṃ kulam ||
ビーシュマは言った。「だが、語らいの中でバラモンを罵り侮る者—そのような者にはシュラーダ（śrāddha）の儀礼において食を施してはならぬ。王よ、林に住む聖仙たちの言としてこう聞く。バラモンが辱められるとき、彼らはその侮辱者の家系を三代にわたり滅ぼし得るのだ。」
