The Duty to Fulfill Promised Gifts
पुत्रान् पौत्रान् पशुंश्वैव बान्धवान् सचिवांस्तथा । पुरं जनपदं चैव शान्तिरिष्टेन पोषयेत्
putrān pautrān paśūṃś caiva bāndhavān sacivāṃs tathā | puraṃ janapadaṃ caiva śāntir iṣṭena poṣayet ||
ビーシュマは言った。「選び取ってなす正しき行い（iṣṭa）の功徳によって、人は安寧と福祉の源となり、子や孫、親族、家畜、重臣、そして都と広き国土をも養い、益する。」
