Suvarṇa-dāna: Kārttikeya’s Origin and the Defeat of Tāraka (सुवर्णदान-प्रसङ्गे कार्त्तिकेय-उत्पत्ति तथा तारकवधः)
वरयस्व वरं देवि दातास्मीति पुरंदर
varayasva varaṃ devi dātāsmīti purandara | satī sādhvī devī tvaṃ kasmād etad ghoraṃ tapaḥ karoṣi | śobhane mahābhāge tava tapasyāyāṃ suparituṣṭo 'smi | devi yathābhimataṃ varaṃ vṛṇu | purandara iti mayā surabhī vara-vṛddhyarthaṃ preritā |
プランダラ（インドラ）は言った。「おお女神よ、恩寵を選べ。私は授ける用意がある。」さらに言う。「おお貞節にして徳高き者よ、なぜかくも厳しい苦行を行うのか。おお光輝ある者よ、幸い大いなる者よ、汝の行に私は深く満足した。おおデーヴィよ、望むままにいかなる恩寵でも求めよ。」かくして、プランダラよ、私はスラビーに願いを求めるよう促した。
