Merit and Destinations from the Gift of Cows
सत्यके प्रभावसे सूर्य तपते हैं, सत्यसे अग्नि प्रजजलित होती है और सत्यसे ही वायुका सर्वत्र संचार होता है; क्योंकि सब कुछ सत्यपर ही टिका हुआ है ।।
satyena prabhavena sūryas tapate, satyena agniḥ prajvalito bhavati, satyena ca vāyor sarvatrābhisañcāraḥ; yataḥ sarvaṃ satye pratiṣṭhitam. satyena devāḥ prīyante pitaro brāhmaṇās tathā. satyam āhuḥ paro dharmas tasmāt satyaṃ na laṅghayet.
ビーシュマは言った。「真実の力によって太陽は熱を放ち、真実によって火は燃え盛り、真実によって風は遍く動く——万有が真実の上に立つがゆえである。真実によって神々は歓び、祖霊も、またブラーフマナたちも同じく歓ぶ。真実こそ至上のダルマと説かれる。ゆえに、決して真実を踏み越えてはならぬ。」
