Truth (satya) is the foundational support of dharma and of the world’s order; the verse illustrates this by linking the functioning of cosmic forces—sun, fire, and wind—to truth as their sustaining principle.
In Anuśāsana Parva, Bhīṣma instructs Yudhiṣṭhira on righteous conduct. Here he emphasizes satya as a supreme ethical commitment, portraying it as the basis on which all stability and right order rest.
