Phala of Vrata, Niyama, Svādhyāya, Dama, Satya, Brahmacarya, and Service
nivedaye cāham imaṁ priyaṁ te kratur mahān alpa-dhana-pracāraḥ | prāpto mayā tāta sa mat-prasūtaḥ prapatsyate veda-vidhi-pravṛttaḥ ||
The verse emphasizes dharmic action through adherence to Vedic injunction (veda-vidhi) and the idea that a righteous rite is defined not merely by wealth but by proper intention, correct procedure, and responsible initiative.
Nāciketa addresses an elder as 'tāta' and reports pleasing news: he has obtained a great sacrificial rite that can be carried out with limited resources, and he declares that it will now be put into effect according to Vedic rules and become established in practice.
