दानफलप्रकरणम् — उपानहदानं, तिलदानं, भूमिदानं, गोदानं, अन्नदानं च
Gifts and Their Stated Results: Footwear, Sesame, Land, Cows, and Food
भूमौ जायन्ति पुरुषा भूमौ निष्ठां व्रजन्ति च | चतुर्विधो हि लोको5यं यो5यं भूमिगुणात्मक:
bhūmau jāyante puruṣā bhūmau niṣṭhāṁ vrajanti ca | caturvidho hi loko 'yaṁ yo 'yaṁ bhūmiguṇātmakaḥ ||
ビーシュマは言った。人は大地の上に生まれ、大地の上にこそ最後の安らぎへと至る。まことにこの世界は四つの相を備え、そのありさまは大地の गुण（性質）によって形づくられている。ゆえに、身を受けた命は同じ土に始まり同じ土に終わることを悟り、ダルマにおいて謙虚に、そして揺るがずに生きるべきである。
