Cyavana–Kuśika Dialogue on Lineage, Conflict, and Transmission
pratibuddhas tu sa munis tau provāca viśāmpate | tailābhyaṅgo dīyatāṃ me snāsyed aham iti bhārata ||
The verse highlights dharmic propriety in daily conduct: even a sage observes orderly bodily rites (anointing and bathing), and rulers are expected to respond with respectful service and hospitality.
After waking, the sage speaks to the king and queen, requesting that they provide an oil anointing so that he may take a bath—an episode emphasizing ritual cleanliness and the courteous duties between ascetic guests and royal hosts.
