युधिछिर उवाच कथमस्य प्रयोक्तव्य: संस्कार: कस्य वा कथम्‌ । देया कन्या कथं चेति तन्मे ब्रूहि पितामह

Transliteration

Yudhiṣṭhira uvāca: katham asya prayoktavyaḥ saṃskāraḥ kasya vā katham | deyā kanyā kathaṃ ceti tan me brūhi pitāmaha ||

Translation

ユディシュティラは言った。「祖父よ、お教えください。この子のサンスカーラ（saṃskāra、浄化と通過儀礼）はいかに執り行うべきで、誰のヴァルナ（varṇa、身分秩序）に従って行うべきでしょうか。彼が真に属するヴァルナは、いかにして定めるのですか。また、いかなる作法で、どの共同体から乙女を迎えて婚姻させるべきか。どうか私に説き明かしてください。」
