देवदत्तां पतिर्भा्या वेत्ति धर्मस्य शासनात् । स दैवीं मानुषी वाचमनृतां पर्युदस्यति
devadattāṁ patir bhāryāṁ vetti dharmasya śāsanāt | sa daivīṁ mānuṣīṁ vācam anṛtāṁ paryudasyati ||
ビーシュマは言った。「ダルマの規定に従い、夫は、正当に自らのもとへ来た女を、天より配された分け前として妻と認める。ゆえに彼は彼女を宿命の授けものとして受け入れ、そのような婚姻を不当だとする人間の口先の噂を虚偽として退けるのである。」
