Vivāha-dharma: Kanyā-pradāna, Śulka, and Pāṇigrahaṇa-niṣṭhā (अनुशासन पर्व, अध्याय ४४)
viśrāntāya tatastasmai sahāsīnāya bhāryayā | nivedayāmāsa tadā vipulaḥ śakrakarma tat ||
Dharma is safeguarded by vigilance, self-restraint, and truthful disclosure: when wrongdoing or temptation occurs—even from a mighty figure like Indra—it should be reported clearly so that the household and moral order are protected.
After the guru has rested and sits with his wife, Vipula approaches and narrates to him the full account of Indra’s actions—i.e., the attempted deception/stratagem—so the teacher understands what occurred.
