शम्बर उवाच नासूयामि यदा वित्रान्‌ ब्राह्ममेव च मे मतम्‌ । शास्त्राणि वदतो विप्रान्‌ सम्मन्यामि यथासुखम्‌

Transliteration

śambara uvāca | nāsūyāmi yadā viprān brāhmam eva ca me matam | śāstrāṇi vadato viprān samman yāmi yathāsukham |

Translation

シャンバラは答えた。「我はバラモンに対して、怨みを抱くことも、過ちをあげつらうこともない。聖なる学と正しい行いにかなう“バラモンの道”を、我が信として受け入れる。そしてシャーストラ（śāstra）を説き明かすバラモンの賢者を常に敬い、力の及ぶかぎり、安楽と扶助を与えようと努めている。」
